LG Manoj Sinha Visits Uran Bowa: Border Villages Now Hubs of Inclusive Development
SRINAGAR, MAY 12, 2026— Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha visited the Vibrant Village of Uran Bowa in Baramulla today to review ongoing developmental schemes and engage with the local community.
During his visit, the Lieutenant Governor emphasized that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the perceived distance between Delhi and border regions has vanished, effectively integrating these areas into the national mainstream.
He highlighted that the Government of India is steadfast in its commitment to transforming frontier hamlets into symbols of inclusive growth.
LG Sinha lauded the residents—particularly farmers, youth, and women—for their “extraordinary responsibility” in serving the nation and reiterated that the **Vibrant Villages Programme** is designed to provide the same level of infrastructure and opportunity found in urban centers.
Addressing a large public gathering, the Lieutenant Governor detailed the massive strides made in connectivity and infrastructure. He noted that all 18 villages currently under the Vibrant Villages Programme in the region now boast all-weather road connectivity, a stark contrast to the pre-2019 era.
Furthermore, digital infrastructure has seen a total overhaul; telecom and 4G/5G coverage in these strategically vital spots has surged from under 40% to a full 100%.
LG Sinha assured residents that this digital revolution is a priority, promising to strengthen mobile and internet services across every frontier hamlet to ensure that the economic mainstream is accessible to all.
The visit also focused on socio-economic empowerment, with the LG highlighting three key administrative priorities: boosting literacy, driving economic growth, and creating sustainable livelihood opportunities.
To mark the progress, the Lieutenant Governor inaugurated and laid foundation stones for various developmental projects valued at ₹94 crores. He also personally distributed appointment orders to SPOs, distributed computer tablets to students, and handed over sanction letters to beneficiaries of the Holistic Agriculture Development Programme (HADP) and Mission Yuva.
In a boost for local sports, he unveiled the trophy and jersey for the upcoming SPANDAN League 2026 North Kashmir Football Championship, organized by the BSF, signaling a new era of prosperity and engagement for the youth of Baramulla.
