Indian Ambassador Vikram Doraiswami meets Diplomatic Corps Dean and key envoys in China

Beijing: 11 May 2026 :- The new Ambassador of India to China, Vikram Doraiswami, held a series of high-level meetings today with prominent members of the diplomatic community in Beijing. He first called on Martin Mpana, the Ambassador of the Republic of Cameroon and Dean of the Diplomatic Corps in China.

During their discussion, Ambassador Doraiswami sought the support of the Dean in his capacity as the head of the extensive and active diplomatic circle stationed in the country.In addition to meeting the Dean, the Indian envoy held separate discussions with Abdulrahman Ahmad Al-Harbi, the Ambassador of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, and Farhod Arziev, the Ambassador of the Republic of Uzbekistan.

The meeting with Ambassador Arziev was a reunion of sorts, as the two diplomats share a professional history from a previous assignment. These engagements focused on strengthening the network of international representatives operating within the Chinese capital.

Throughout these introductory meetings, the diplomats exchanged views on a wide range of topics, specifically focusing on expanding economic opportunities and enhancing people-to-people ties. The discussions highlighted the importance of bilateral and multilateral cooperation between their respective nations and China.

These interactions mark a significant step in the Indian Ambassador’s efforts to foster strong regional and international partnerships during his tenure.
