Kishtwar road accident victims receive financial aid from government
KISHTWAR, May 08 — Deputy Commissioner Pankaj Kumar Sharma released 5 lakh in compensation today under the Jammu and Kashmir Road Accident Victim Fund to support families impacted by recent traffic incidents.
The funds were distributed following a review of cases submitted by the Assistant Road Transport Officer to ensure that those affected receive timely state assistance.The administration provided 1 lakh each to the legal heirs of four individuals who lost their lives in road accidents.
Additionally, two people who sustained grievous injuries received 50 thousand each to assist with their recovery and financial needs. This initiative is part of a broader government commitment to provide a safety net for citizens facing distress due to tragic transport mishaps.
The recipients of the compensation include Makhni Begum, Asha Devi, Hajera Begum, Gh. Hussain, Sohail Bashir, and Shamima Akhtar Banoo. These payments aim to alleviate the immediate financial burden on the bereaved families and those recovering from serious harm.
While overseeing the disbursement, the Deputy Commissioner emphasized the resolve of the local administration to prioritize welfare schemes.
He noted that the government remains dedicated to ensuring that relief reaches victims and their families promptly through established public support frameworks.
