Trinamool Congress Condemns Violence and Demands CBI Probe into Madhyamgram Killing

MADHYAMGRAM, May 7, 2026 — All India Trinamool Congress has issued a strong condemnation following the brutal murder of Chandranath Rath in Madhyamgram.

In a statement released on X, the party also highlighted the deaths of three Trinamool Congress workers in separate incidents of post-poll violence over the last three days.

The party alleged that these attacks were carried out by miscreants backed by the BJP, noting that the violence has persisted despite the Model Code of Conduct remaining in force across the region.

The party is demanding the strongest possible legal action and has called for a court-monitored investigation by the Central Bureau of Investigation.

Trinamool Congress leadership emphasized that those responsible must be identified and brought to justice immediately to maintain democratic values.

The statement concluded by asserting that political killings have no place in society and that all guilty parties must be held accountable for the recent wave of unrest.
