Srikona Battalion of Assam Rifles honoured with Manipur Governor unit citation for exemplary operational excellence

Manipur May 07,2026 :- Srikona Battalion of Assam Rifles was awarded Manipur Governor Unit Citation in recognition of its exceptional courage, professionalim and unwavering commitment during OPERATION HIFAZAT and the recent violence in Manipur.
The Battalion executed a series of high-precision kinetic and non-kinetic operations across the districts of Jiribam, Tamenglong, Noney, and Pherzawl. These operations led to the apprehension of insurgents, recovery of weapons and seizure of large quantities of warlike stores, fake currency and contraband.
Through sustained and resolute efforts under challenging conditions, the Battalion played a decisive role in restoring peace and stability in the region.
The Unit Citation was received by Col Chundawat Prashant Singh, Shaurya Chakra, accompanied by Subedar Major LL Koiri, on behalf of all ranks of the Battalion.
