SIA Kashmir Attaches Property of PoJK Based Lashkar Operative in Narco Terror Crackdown
KUPWARA, MAY 06: In a major offensive against narco-terror networks, the State Investigation Agency (SIA) Kashmir today attached immovable property belonging to a Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) operative based in Pakistan-occupied Jammu and Kashmir (PoJK).
The action is linked to Case FIR No. 03/2023, which involves a high-profile narco-terror investigation initially registered by the Anti Narcotics Task Force and later transferred to the SIA due to its complex cross-border terror financing ramifications.
The accused, Zameer Ahmad Lone, a resident of Mandiyan Keran who is currently operating from across the border, had previously been declared a proclaimed offender for his role in activities aimed at destabilizing the peace and security of the Union Territory.
The attachment proceedings were carried out following a detailed application by the SIA before the Competent Court, which subsequently ordered the seizure of the absconder’s assets.
A specialized SIA team, in the presence of an Executive Magistrate and local revenue officials, executed the attachment of land measuring 01 Kanal and 14.37 Marlas situated at Mandiyan Keran in Kupwara. This move follows the earlier filing of a comprehensive charge sheet by the agency, which uncovered substantial evidence linking narcotics smuggling to the funding of terrorist activities.
This latest action underscores the unwavering resolve of the SIA to dismantle the entire ecosystem of terrorism, specifically targeting the financial pipelines and narco-terror networks fueled from abroad.
By integrating its investigative efforts with the broader national mission of the Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan, the SIA continues to intensify its crackdown on drug abuse and the narcotics trade that sustains terrorism.
The agency remains dedicated to identifying and taking stringent legal action against any individuals or entities that threaten the sovereignty, integrity, and security of the nation.
