Amit Shah Praises NCB For Extraditing Drug Trafficker Salim Dola From Turkiye
NEW DELHI, April 28, 2026:-Union Home Minister and Minister of Cooperation Amit Shah announced today that the Narcotics Control Bureau has achieved a significant breakthrough in its fight against organized crime.
In a major operation named Global-Hunt, the agency successfully secured the return of notorious drug trafficker Mohammad Salim Dola from Turkiye.
Upon his arrival at IGI Airport in New Delhi early this morning, Dola was immediately taken into custody by officials. The Home Minister emphasized that this successful extradition reflects the firm resolve of the Narendra Modi government to maintain a policy of zero tolerance against narco-syndicates.
Shah noted that Indian anti-narcotics agencies have expanded their reach across borders through a robust network of global partnerships, ensuring that fugitives have no safe haven regardless of where they attempt to hide.
Salim Dola, a 59-year-old from Mumbai, had been the subject of an INTERPOL Red Notice issued at the request of Indian authorities in March 2024. He is wanted for prosecution in multiple narcotics trafficking cases and had been absconding for several years.
Investigations suggest that Dola established a massive transnational syndicate spanning the Middle East, Africa, and Europe over the last two decades. His criminal history includes involvement in high-value seizures of heroin, charas, mephedrone, and methamphetamine in Maharashtra and Gujarat.
Authorities identified him as a bulk supplier for various distribution networks across India. This operation, which involved close coordination between the authorities in Turkiye, INTERPOL, and Indian intelligence agencies, follows the 2025 arrest of his son, Tahil Salim Dola, who was previously deported from the UAE.
