Inquiry ordered into tragic Udhampur road accident​

Udhampur, April 22, 2026:- ​The District Magistrate of Udhampur has formally initiated an inquiry into a fatal road accident that occurred on April 20, 2026, at Jallow village in the Ramnagar Tehsil.

The collision involved a bus with registration number JK14D2121 and a passenger auto bearing number JK14G-2938, resulting in multiple fatalities and serious injuries to several passengers.

Following an official order issued on April 21, Additional District Magistrate Prem Singh has been appointed as the inquiry officer to investigate the facts and circumstances leading to the tragedy.​

In a public notice issued under DIP/J-898, the district administration has called upon any individuals with knowledge of the incident to come forward.

Witnesses or those willing to provide information are requested to visit the Office of the Additional Deputy Commissioner at the Deputy Commissioner Office Complex in Udhampur to record their statements.

This opportunity to contribute to the investigation is available during regular working hours for a period of six days from the date of the notice’s issuance to ensure a comprehensive and timely completion of the inquiry.
