INS Valsura Marks Historic Graduation of First Women Officers in Electrical Branch


JAMNAGAR, April 21, 2026 — INS Valsura recently hosted a landmark End of Course ceremony for the Electrical Specialisation Course, celebrating the successful completion of 95 weeks of rigorous technical training.

This particular graduation marks a significant milestone in naval history as it includes the first cohort of women officers to join the Electrical Branch of the Indian Navy.

The ceremony highlights the evolving landscape of the armed forces and the successful integration of women into specialized technical roles within the fleet.
A total of 50 officers graduated during the event, comprising 38 personnel from the Indian Navy and 12 officers representing various friendly foreign navies.

This diverse group underwent intensive instruction designed to equip them with the advanced skills necessary to maintain and operate the sophisticated electronic systems of modern warships.

The graduation not only reinforces the technical strength of the Indian Navy but also fosters international cooperation and camaraderie among maritime nations, ensuring a highly skilled and inclusive force ready to power the future fleet.
