Iranian Parliament Speaker Warns Of Hormuz Strait Restrictions Following US Claims

Tehran /Iran April 18 2026:- Iranian Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf issued a stern warning regarding the security and navigation of the Strait of Hormuz in response to recent statements from the United States.

In a series of points shared on social media X , Ghalibaf dismissed several claims made by the U.S. President as entirely false, asserting that such misinformation would not grant the American administration an advantage in ongoing negotiations.

He emphasized that the Iranian people remain resilient against media warfare and public opinion engineering, urging the public to rely on official diplomatic channels for accurate updates on international talks.

The Speaker further clarified Iran’s position on maritime sovereignty, stating that the continued economic blockade of the country would jeopardize the openness of the Strait of Hormuz.

According to Ghalibaf, future transit through the strategic waterway will be strictly governed by Iranian-authorized routes and specific permits issued by Tehran.

He concluded by noting that the operational status and regulations of the strait are determined by the reality on the ground rather than social media discourse, reinforcing that Iran’s strategic decisions will remain unaffected by external pressure or rhetorical maneuvers.
