Srinagar Police demolish illegal house of drug dealer in Palpora Noorbagh
SRINAGAR, May 6, 2026Srinagar Police intensified their crackdown on the narcotics trade by demolishing an illegally constructed residential building in the Palpora Noorbagh area.
The property belonged to Hilal Ahmad Sheikh, a habitual drug peddler residing in Pamposh Colony. Authorities confirmed that the structure was built on state land without any legal authorization.
This action is part of the ongoing Nasha Mukt Jammu and Kashmir Abhiyaan, which aims to eliminate the drug menace from the region.Investigations revealed that Hilal Ahmad Sheikh used proceeds from drug trafficking to fund the construction of the building.
The accused is currently involved in multiple cases under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act, including recent FIRs at the Khanyar and Safakadal police stations.
Officials noted that the demolition was carried out after completing all necessary legal formalities in coordination with the relevant departments.
The police also identified a broader network linked to the accused, noting that several of his close associates and family members are involved in drug peddling activities across the valley.
By targeting the financial and logistical assets of traffickers, the department aims to dismantle the entire narcotics ecosystem.
Srinagar Police reiterated their zero-tolerance policy toward drug trafficking and urged citizens to cooperate with law enforcement to protect the younger generation.
