Srinagar Police Attach Property Worth 1.20 Crore Belonging to Notorious Drug Peddler Under Nasha Mukt Abhiyaan

Srinagar, May 5:- Srinagar Police has attached immovable property valued at approximately 1.20 crore belonging to a notorious drug peddler as part of the ongoing 100 Days Campaign of Nasha Mukt Jammu and Kashmir Abhiyaan.

Acting under the provisions of Section 68-F of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act, officers from the Nowhatta Police Station seized assets linked to an accused individual involved in a 2019 narcotics case.

The investigation revealed that the property was acquired through the proceeds of illicit drug trafficking, leading to its identification and attachment as illegally acquired assets.

The attached property, located in the Hawal area of Srinagar, includes a fully renovated three-storey residential house, a separate single-storey concrete kitchen block featuring three washrooms, and land measuring nine marlas.

The assets belong to Nisar Ahmad Sheikh, a resident of Kani Dewar, Sheikh Mohallah. This significant financial hit to the narco-trade underscores the commitment of the local administration to dismantle the economic networks that sustain drug traffickers and to curb the spread of narcotics within the community.

Srinagar Police reiterated its firm resolve to continue strict legal action against all individuals involved in drug peddling and the smuggling of contraband. Officials stated that dismantling the financial backbone of these criminal networks is a key priority in the war against drugs.

The police also appealed to the general public to support the Nasha Mukt J&K campaign by proactively sharing any information regarding drug abuse or trafficking to help safeguard the future of the youth.
