DIG Shiv Kumar Sharma Reviews Security Preparedness For Independence Day 2026 In Udhampur and Reasi
UDHAMPUR, AUGUST 11 — Deputy Inspector General of Police for the Udhampur-Reasi Range, Shiv Kumar Sharma, chaired a security meeting with supervisory officers from Udhampur and Reasi districts to review arrangements for the upcoming Independence Day celebrations.
The meeting focused on evaluating the security landscape across both districts and establishing coordination among security agencies to ensure a peaceful environment during the national event.During the interaction, Shiv Kumar Sharma instructed officers to bolster security coverage across sensitive locations, religious sites, vital installations, and major public hubs.
He called for intensified checking at checkpoints, heightened surveillance, and strategic deployment of forces at vulnerable entry points throughout the region. Specific directives were issued regarding venue security, traffic management, access control, and force deployment where main events are scheduled to take place.
The review was attended by senior officials including the SSPs of Udhampur and Reasi, army representatives, commanding officers from multiple CRPF battalions, BSF leadership, and officials from intelligence agencies including CID and IB.
Officers were asked to maintain continuous vigilance and keep real-time operational synergy between the police, military, and paramilitary forces to address any potential security challenges ahead of the celebrations.
