Samba police conduct CASO and area domination exercise in Ghagwal to strengthen security grid
SAMBA, JULY 10, 2026: Samba Police conducted a comprehensive search and cordon operation coupled with an area domination exercise in the sensitive areas of Nonath Khad and Ghagwal, which included sanitizing the adjoining railway track.
The operation was led by the Additional SP Samba and carried out jointly by teams from SOG Samba, CRPF 93rd Battalion, and the Railway Police. This coordinated exercise aimed to prevent any anti-national or unlawful activities while maintaining a robust security grid across the district.
During the operation, security personnel thoroughly sanitized the entire area and conducted meticulous searches of vulnerable locations. Joint teams also launched a search and cordon operation inside an abandoned building in the area to eliminate the possibility of its misuse by anti-social or anti-national elements.
In addition, the railway track passing through the sector was completely sanitized in close coordination with the Railway Police to ensure its safety and security.Following the completion of the operation, police personnel deployed along National Highway 44 for Amarnath Yatra security duties were extensively briefed.
The deployed force received directives to maintain a high level of vigilance, remain alert to any suspicious movement, and ensure that no vehicles park on the highway, as unauthorized parking poses potential security concerns during the ongoing pilgrimage.
Samba Police reiterated its commitment to maintaining a strong security framework through regular exercises and close coordination with all security agencies.
