Poonch Police Partner with Religious Schools for Nasha Mukt Awareness Drive

POONCH, April 19, 2026 — As part of the ongoing Nasha Mukt Jammu and Kashmir Abhiyan, the District Police Poonch organized a series of targeted drug awareness initiatives within the Mendhar region to combat the rising threat of substance abuse.

These sessions were specifically held at Madarsa Dar-ul-uloom Sarhandi and Madrasa Dawat-e-Islami, where students and religious educators gathered to discuss the physical, social, and legal ramifications of narcotics. By integrating these programs into religious educational settings, the police aimed to highlight the moral responsibility of the community in preventing addiction and to provide students with the knowledge necessary to resist the dangers of drug trafficking.

During the sessions, police representatives emphasized the vital role that religious institutions and young people play as catalysts for social change. Participants were encouraged to align the ethical teachings of their education with the mission of building a drug-free society, effectively acting as ambassadors within their own neighborhoods.

The District Police Poonch concluded the events by reaffirming their dedication to eradicating narcotics from the district and urged the general public to maintain a collaborative relationship with law enforcement to ensure the long-term success of the anti-drug campaign.
