Poonch to Conduct 5-Day Civil Defence Air Raid and Blackout Mock Drill

POONCH, April 19, 2026 — The Office of the Deputy Commissioner in Poonch has issued a formal directive for a Civil Defence Air Raid and Blackout mock exercise across the district. Scheduled to take place from April 20 to April 24, 2026, the drill follows instructions from the Deputy Inspector General of Civil Defence and SDRF Jammu.

The initiative is designed to evaluate and strengthen the region’s emergency preparedness and response capabilities.In preparation for the five-day exercise, administrative heads including the Senior Superintendent of Police, the Chief Medical Officer, and executive engineers from PWD, Jal Shakti, and JPDCL have been ordered to coordinate with Civil Defence authorities.

These officials must finalize logistics and public awareness campaigns to ensure the drills are executed smoothly. The primary goal is to streamline coordination between departments and educate residents on safety protocols during simulated air raids or blackouts.

Following the event, all departments are required to submit detailed action-taken reports for further review.
