Udhampur Celebrates Parshuram Jayanti with Grand Religious Procession
UDHAMPUR, April 19, 2026:-The spiritual landscape of Udhampur was transformed into a sea of devotion as the community gathered to celebrate Shri Parshuram Jayanti on the auspicious day of Akshaya Tritiya.
Marking the birth anniversary of Lord Parshuram, the sixth incarnation of Lord Vishnu, the festivities were defined by a deep sense of religious harmony and cultural pride.
To honor the deity—revered as a timeless symbol of immense bravery, profound knowledge, and the relentless pursuit of justice—the Parshuram Yuva Dal organized an expansive Shobha Yatra. This grand procession served as a moving tribute to the values of righteousness that the Lord represents.
The Shobha Yatra commenced from the historic Sankat Mochan Kargil Hanuman Temple under the spiritual guidance of Sant Subhash Shastri.
As the vibrant procession wove through the city’s major intersections, the air was filled with chants and traditional music, drawing hundreds of local residents into the celebration.
The journey culminated at Sallain Talab, where the atmosphere shifted from the energy of the march to the serenity of a spiritual Satsang. This gathering allowed devotees to reflect on the teachings of Lord Parshuram and the importance of social justice in the modern world.
The event was attended by several notable figures, including DIG Udhampur-Reasi Range Shiv Kumar Sharma and Ramnagar MLA Sunil Bhardwaj.
