Ladakh to host flagship Bike Week to become Himalayan motorcycling capital
LEH, MAY 16 — The Union Territory Administration of Ladakh has signed a first-of-its-kind Memorandum of Understanding with Royal Enfield and the Ladakh Bike Co-operative Limited to organize Ladakh Bike Week.
Lieutenant Governor Vinai Kumar Saxena announced the initiative, highlighting it as a flagship event designed to establish the region as the ultimate motorcycling capital of the Himalayas.The initiative aims to go beyond adventure by focusing heavily on local livelihoods, community participation, and sustainability.
The collaboration is structured to directly benefit home stays, local guides, artisans, self-help groups, and small businesses across the region. Vinai Kumar Saxena emphasized that safety, professionalism, and environmental responsibility will remain paramount throughout the execution of the event.
This strategic partnership is expected to strengthen the identity of Ladakh as a premier destination for adventure tourism while keeping the local population at the center of the economic growth story. The Lieutenant Governor congratulated all stakeholders involved and assured full support from the Union Territory Administration.
