Jammu and Kashmir government names official media spokespersons for Shri Amarnath Yatra 2026

SRINAGAR, June 30: The Jammu and Kashmir government has designated specific senior administrative and police officers as the sole authorized spokespersons to interact with the media and conduct official press briefings for the Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra 2026.

According to a circular issued by the Tourism Department at the Civil Secretariat, the Divisional Commissioner of Kashmir and the Inspector General of Police for Kashmir are authorized to handle media communications for the Kashmir Division.

Similarly, the Divisional Commissioner of Jammu and the Inspector General of Police for Jammu will manage all press briefings for the Jammu Division.The directive outlines that these designated officials must maintain close coordination with the Information Department of Jammu and Kashmir as well as the Shri Amarnath Ji Shrine Board to streamline all communication related to the annual pilgrimage.

This administrative measure has been implemented to effectively counter the spread of misinformation and ensure that only verified, accurate, and authentic updates regarding the pilgrimage are disseminated to the public through official channels.
