Calicut Airport conducts full scale aircraft emergency mock exercise to test aviation preparedness

KOZHIKODE, June 30, 2026:- A full-scale aircraft emergency mock exercise simulating a real-time aviation crisis was conducted at Calicut International Airport to evaluate and strengthen the facility’s overall preparedness and response mechanisms.

The comprehensive drill brought together multiple emergency response teams, including the Central Industrial Security Force, Airport Rescue and Firefighting, National Disaster Response Force, State Fire Service, State Police, and the Health Department, alongside other key aviation stakeholders.

During the simulated drill, the participating agencies executed closely coordinated operations focusing on swift rescue missions, active firefighting, mass evacuation, and emergency casualty management.

The exercise served to thoroughly assess the airport’s standard emergency response procedures, internal and external communication systems, rapid resource mobilization, and inter-agency coordination.

This successful drill reinforces the readiness of all involved safety and security agencies to respond effectively and decisively during any actual aviation emergency.
