Kashmir police IG reviews Amarnath Yatra 2026 security arrangements in Ganderbal
SRINAGAR, June 30: Ahead of the annual pilgrimage, Inspector General of Police Kashmir Zone, V.K Birdi, conducted an on-ground review of security arrangements and deployment plans in the Ganderbal district.
The police chief was accompanied during the high-level security review by the Deputy Inspector General of Central Kashmir Range, the Deputy Inspector General of North Kashmir Range, the Senior Superintendent of Police for Srinagar, the Senior Superintendent of Police for Ganderbal, the Senior Superintendent of Police for Bandipora, the Superintendent of Police Operations for Srinagar, and several other senior officers from both the police and civil administrations.
During the field visit, the Kashmir police chief inspected the Transit Camp Manigam to take a detailed assessment of the essential logistics and security arrangements being established for the smooth, secure, and hassle-free movement of the pilgrims. He also comprehensively evaluated the physical deployment of the Jammu and Kashmir Police, Central Armed Police Forces, and other security components at key strategic locations along the designated pilgrimage route.
Administrative officials stated that the comprehensive review was aimed at ensuring a well-coordinated deployment, effective area domination, and a foolproof security grid for the smooth conduct of the pilgrimage.
