Lt Gen Sandeep Jain pays homage at Southern Command war memorial before taking over as VCOAS

PUNE, June 30, 2026 :- General Officer Commanding-in-Chief of the Southern Command Lieutenant General Sandeep Jain laid a wreath at the Southern Command War Memorial today to pay homage to fallen soldiers upon relinquishing his command.

Following the wreath-laying ceremony, the Army Commander reviewed a ceremonial Guard of Honour at the Southern Command Headquarters.

In his farewell message to all ranks of the Southern Command, the Army Commander called upon every soldier to remain mission-ready and maintain uncompromising operational preparedness. He emphasized the importance of standing ready to respond decisively to both emerging and evolving security challenges facing the nation.

Lieutenant General Sandeep Jain is scheduled to officially assume the appointment of the Vice Chief of Army Staff on July 1, 2026.
