Junior Leaders Academy Bareilly Culminates Potential Subedar Major Course
BAREILLY, May 15, 2026 — The Potential Subedar Major Course concluded at the Junior Leaders Academy on May 14, 2026, marking the end of an intensive training period for junior leaders.
The four-week professional capsule was attended by Subedar Majors, their equivalents, and potential candidates from the Indian Army, Indian Air Force, Indian Navy, Special Frontier Force, and Assam Rifles. The program was specifically designed to strengthen leadership acumen, foster inter-service understanding, and enhance overall battlefield readiness among the participants.
During the valedictory event, Gaurav Kapoor, Commandant of the Junior Leaders Academy, addressed the attendees and emphasized the vital role Subedar Majors play in maintaining cohesive force dynamics. He noted that their leadership is essential for operational effectiveness, especially when navigating current geopolitical challenges and the shift toward a digital mindset within the armed forces.
At the conclusion of the ceremony, Govind Ram Mahala of the JAT Regiment was honored as the Overall Best Student for his outstanding performance throughout the course.
