SRINAGAR, JULY 14, 2026 — The Jammu & Kashmir Sports Council has officially kicked off selection trials to form the J&K Under-14 Sub-Junior Girls Football Team, which will represent the Union Territory at the upcoming AIFF Sub-Junior Girls National Football Championship 2026. The opening day of the trials saw an impressive turnout of around 75 young footballers from across the region, including 60 players from the Kashmir Division and 15 from the Jammu Division. Evaluated by a technical committee of experienced football experts and qualified coaches, the participants were tested on technical ability, tactical awareness, physical fitness, and overall game understanding.
According to the schedule released by the Sports Council, the divisional selection trials are taking place on July 13 and 14 at the Mini Stadium, Parade Ground in Jammu, and the Synthetic Turf Football Stadium, TRC in Srinagar. The shortlisted athletes from both divisions will move on to the final selection trials, set for July 16 and 17 at the Synthetic Turf Football Stadium in Srinagar, where the official squad will be finalized. This initiative aligns with the Sports Council’s ongoing commitment to boosting women’s football in the Union Territory by offering equal opportunities and building a solid pathway for young athletes to excel on the national stage.
