Shri Amarnath Yatra Sets Record with Over 3 Lakh Pilgrims in 12 Days

SRINAGAR, JULY 14, 2026: The annual Amarnath Ji Yatra has achieved a historic milestone this year, with the total number of pilgrims crossing the 3 lakh mark within the first 12 days of the pilgrimage.

Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha commended the dedication of officials, service providers, and volunteers for their invaluable contributions to ensuring a seamless experience. In a social media post on X, Sinha celebrated the achievement, noting that the hard work of everyone involved has made the holy pilgrimage both smooth and memorable for every devotee of Baba Barfani.

The extensive pilgrimage, which officially commenced on July 3 and is scheduled to conclude on August 28, spans across twin routes in the South Kashmir Himalayas. Pilgrims trek through either the traditional 48-kilometer Nunwan-Pahalgam track or the shorter, steeper 14-kilometer Baltal track. Both paths ultimately converge at the 3,880-meter-high holy cave shrine, where devotees gather to perform darshan.
