India Coast Guard Airlifts Critically Ill Patients from Lakshadweep to Kochi
KOCHI JULY 14— Reaffirming its commitment to safeguarding lives at sea and across island territories, the India Coast Guard Air Enclave Kochi, in coordination with District Headquarters-12 Kavaratti and the Lakshadweep Administration, successfully executed a critical medical evacuation from Agatti Island on July 14, 2026.
An India Coast Guard Dornier aircraft airlifted two critically ill patients, aged 61 and 60, who were suffering from acute myocardial infarction and a haemorrhagic stroke respectively. The patients were safely transferred to Kochi to receive advanced medical care. This timely mission stands as a testament to the India Coast Guard’s role as a dependable first responder, ensuring that no life is lost for want of urgent medical aid.
