Amritsar Counter Intelligence Busts Cross-Border Drug Module, Seizes 30 Kg Heroin
AMRITSAR — In a major breakthrough against cross-border drug trafficking, the Counter Intelligence wing of Amritsar has busted an international narcotics smuggling module, apprehending two key operatives and recovering 30 kilograms of heroin.
Preliminary investigations reveal that the arrested individuals were operating directly under the instructions of a foreign-based handler closely linked to cross-border smugglers. The duo was responsible for collecting large heroin consignments from various strategic locations and distributing them to different buyers across Punjab.
Following the seizure, a First Information Report (FIR) has been registered under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act at the State Special Operations Cell (SSOC) Police Station in Amritsar. A comprehensive investigation is currently underway to establish both forward and backward linkages, with law enforcement working to uncover the entire supply chain and dismantle the network completely.
