Reasi Police Freeze Illicit Drug Trade Property Worth Lakhs
REASI, July 14, 2026 — Under the ongoing Nasha Mukt Jammu and Kashmir Abhiyan campaign, the Reasi Police have attached a residential property valued at 13.37 lakh belonging to an accused drug trafficker.
The action was taken during a detailed financial investigation linked to an active narcotics case registered at the Reasi Police Station. Authorities conducted an asset verification of the accused, Mohd. Rafi, a resident of Kheral, discovering a newly constructed two-room house built between 2022 and 2024.
Revenue records and further enquiries established that the accused possessed no lawful or permanent source of income capable of funding the construction. Following a formal valuation by the Public Works Department, the residential property was officially frozen under Section 68F of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act to prevent its transfer, sale, or disposal during the ongoing legal proceedings.
The district police reiterated their commitment to dismantling the financial networks supporting drug trafficking by targeting assets built on illicit proceeds. Law enforcement officials emphasized that their operations to eradicate narcotics remain steadfast and urged members of the public to assist by sharing relevant information regarding local drug trade networks.
