Indian Army Hosts Outreach for Gujjar and Bakkarwal Communities in Poonch’s Hill Kaka

POONCH, INDIA — July 14, 2026 :- In a continued effort to strengthen civil-military relations and build mutual trust, the Indian Army hosted a community interaction program with members of the nomadic Gujjar and Bakkarwal communities at Hill Kaka in Poonch.

The outreach event, attended by ten prominent community members, served as a constructive platform for open dialogue regarding local welfare, daily challenges, and the development of basic amenities in the region. During the session, military representatives listened to the concerns of the attendees, promising continued support and resources to address their genuine issues while emphasizing the vital role of local cooperation in maintaining regional peace and harmony.

The participants highly appreciated the initiative, noting that regular dialogue of this nature goes a long way in building confidence, fostering long-term understanding, and promoting inclusive growth across the remote communities of Poonch.
