Kathua Police Demolish Properties of Major Drug Peddlers Worth 1 Crore

KATHUA, May 11, 2026 :- In a significant move under the Nasha Mukt Abhiyan initiative, the District and Police Administration in Kathua jointly carried out the demolition of three houses belonging to notorious drug peddlers.

The operation took place in the Korepunnu area of Rajbagh, targeting structures that were illegally constructed on state land. The properties belonged to Liaqat Ali, also known as Liaqatu, Gaggu Din, and Sham Din, all of whom are sons of Sharief Mohammad and residents of Marheen Tehsil.

The accused individuals are reportedly linked to sixteen different police cases involving drug trafficking and various criminal activities. Officials estimate the total value of the demolished properties to be over 1 crore.

According to the administration, this action serves as a clear message of the government’s zero-tolerance policy toward the narcotics trade and its resolve to dismantle the infrastructure used by those fueling the drug menace in Jammu and Kashmir.
