India condemns Fujairah attack and calls for peace in West Asia
NEW DELHI, May 5, 2026 — The Ministry of External Affairs has issued a formal statement strongly condemning a recent attack in Fujairah that left three Indian nationals injured.
Describing the incident as unacceptable, the government called for an immediate end to hostilities and the deliberate targeting of civilian infrastructure and innocent people.
The ministry emphasized that India remains committed to dialogue and diplomacy as the primary means to address the current situation and restore peace and stability throughout West Asia.
Furthermore, India advocated for the maintenance of free and unimpeded navigation and commerce through the Strait of Hormuz, stressing that all maritime activities must adhere to international law.
The government concluded by stating its readiness to support any efforts directed toward a peaceful resolution of the ongoing issues.
