CM Yogi Adityanath Boosts UP Defence Industrial Corridor with 35000 Crore Investment

PRAYAGRAJ, May 06, 2026Yogi Adityanath stated that strength and capability are vital for national security, peace, and prosperity during the final day of the North Tech Symposium 2026.

Addressing the gathering in Prayagraj, he emphasized that the government led by Narendra Modi is focusing on enhancing strategic and defense capabilities to ensure national security rather than for offensive purposes.

He noted that the state is actively implementing investment proposals worth over 35,000 crore across six nodes of the Uttar Pradesh Defence Industrial Corridor, supported by the state’s dedicated defense and aerospace policy.

The Chief Minister highlighted the dangers of relying heavily on external sources for critical security inputs, citing the current situation in West Asia as a cautionary example. He praised the national progress toward self-reliance, with defense exports moving toward a 50,000 crore target.

Adityanath detailed the diverse industries established within the corridor, including those focused on BrahMos missiles, precision engineering, small arms, and military textiles. He assured the defense forces of continued support through the state’s massive base of 96 lakh MSMEs and a growing pool of skilled manpower.

Significant improvements in law and order have been foundational to the economic transformation of Uttar Pradesh. Adityanath explained that a zero-tolerance policy toward crime and terrorism has fostered an environment conducive to large-scale investment. This focus on the rule of law has allowed the state to develop premier infrastructure, including extensive expressway and railway networks.

He remarked that Uttar Pradesh has successfully shed its previous reputation to emerge as a primary engine of growth for the Indian economy, supported by over 21,000 active start-ups.The symposium, themed Raksha Triveni Sangam, served as a collaborative platform for technology, knowledge, and innovation.

Organized by the Central and Northern Commands of the Indian Army in partnership with the Society of Indian Defence Manufacturers, the three-day event featured 284 industry partners showcasing cutting-edge military hardware.

Lieutenant General Anindya Sengupta of the Central Command noted that the defense corridor is instrumental in the state’s ambition to become a one-trillion-dollar economy, confirming that the command alone has initiated 28 research projects worth 600 crore in the past year.
