Avalanche Hits Vehicles at Shaitan Nallah, No Casualties Reported

Srinagar April 25,2026 :- An avalanche struck several vehicles at Shaitan Nallah along the Zojila Pass on Saturday, triggering panic among commuters.

Officials said that despite the sudden incident, no casualties or injuries have been reported so far.Rescue teams, including personnel from the local administration, police, and road maintenance agencies, were immediately rushed to the spot.

Efforts are underway to safely evacuate stranded passengers and clear the debris from the affected stretch of the road.

Authorities have advised travelers to avoid unnecessary movement on the Srinagar–Leh highway until weather conditions improve and the route is declared safe for traffic.Further details are awaited as the rescue operation continues.
