GCW Udhampur celebrates World Animal Day

UDHAMPUR OCTOBER 04, 2025: World Animal Day is celebrated globally onOctober 4 to raise awareness about animal welfare and promoteconservation efforts. The Department of Zoology, Government Collegefor Women(GCW) Udhampur organized a thought-provoking movie Screeningto commemorate this significant day and inspire students to becomeresponsible stewards of animal welfare in the college campus.The Program was conducted under the patronage and guidance ofPrincipal, Prof. (Dr.) Nalini Pathania.

The event aimed to raise awareness about animal conservation andwelfare, highlighting the importance of coexisting with wildlife.Dr. Anita, Assistant Professor, Department of Zoology, delivered awarm welcome address and also inspired students to take action towardsanimal conservation.A captivating film was screened to educate students about animalconservation and the role humans play in protecting wildlife.

This wasfollowed by student interactions and discussions, in which studentsactively participated in a discussion on animal conservation, sharingtheir perspectives and insights on the importance of protectingwildlife, role of individuals in animal conservation, the impact ofhuman activities on wildlife, and ways to promote coexistence withanimals.The program ended with a formal vote of thanks by Dr. Neha Antal,Assistant Professor, Department of Zoology, expressing gratitude tothe participants and organizers.
