LG Sinha Hails New Delhi Parcel Train as “Huge Relief” for J&K Apple Growers
Srinagar 11 September :- The Lieutenant Governor of Jammu and Kashmir, Manoj Sinha, announced a significant boost for the region’s vital apple industry with the commencement of a daily parcel train service from Budgam to New Delhi.
In a post on social media platform X, the LG stated that this dedicated rail link will bring “huge relief to apple growers,” providing a faster, more efficient, and cost-effective means to transport their produce to the major national market.
Expressing his deep gratitude, LG Sinha credited the initiative to the intervention of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Minister for Railways Ashwini Vaishnaw, highlighting the central government’s focus on supporting the agricultural economy and enhancing connectivity in the Union Territory.
This move is expected to reduce the dependency on road transport, minimize spoilage, and ensure better price realization for thousands of apple farmers in the Kashmir valley.
