Army Restores Traffic After Civil Vehicle Breakdown at Waskura

Srinagar August 11,2026 :- Demonstrating its commitment to public service and humanitarian assistance, troops of Army’s 24 Rashtriya Rifles, Ganderbal swiftly restored traffic after a civil vehicle broke down at Waskura, causing a major traffic jam on the busy road last late night.

Upon receiving a request from the Police, Army personnel immediately mobilised a recovery vehicle to the site.The troops, in coordination with civil authorities, worked promptly to move the stranded vehicle from the carriageway. Their swift action helped ease the congestion and ensured smooth movement of vehicles for commuters.

The timely intervention by the Army was widely appreciated by local residents, commuters and civil authorities, who acknowledged the troops’ professionalism and readiness to assist the public during emergencies.Such initiatives continue to strengthen the bond of trust and goodwill between the Indian Army and the local populace, reinforcing the spirit of cooperation and civil-military harmony in the region.
