Rajouri MVD Suspends Registration Certificates of 612 Vehicles for Permit Violations

RAJOURI, Aug 10 — Motor Vehicles Department Rajouri has suspended the registration certificates of 612 vehicles operating without valid permits following directives from Transport Department Secretary Avny Lavasa and Transport Commissioner Vishesh Paul Mahajan.

The action follows a district-wide inspection that identified 622 non-compliant vehicles, after which authorities issued public notices giving owners a 10-day deadline to rectify their status. Assistant Regional Transport Officer Ashiq Rafiq Malik stated that the suspensions were enforced under the Motor Vehicles Act to curb unauthorized commercial operations.

Details of the flagged vehicles have been shared with traffic police for ground enforcement, and authorities warned that strict legal action will continue against vehicle owners operating without essential statutory documentation.
