DIG North Kashmir Range Reviews Independence Day Security in Sopore
SOPORE, Aug 10 — DIG North Kashmir Range Baramulla Vinod Kumar chaired a high-level security meeting with officers from Sopore Police, Central Armed Police Forces, and partner agencies to review preparations for the upcoming Independence Day 2026 celebrations.
During the meeting, officials discussed deployment plans, area domination, access control, traffic management, and inter-agency coordination aimed at ensuring smooth and peaceful events across the region. SSP Sopore presented an overview of the precautionary measures implemented so far, including intensified checking, frisking, and patrolling operations across the police district.
A comprehensive review of the regional security scenario was conducted, with instructions issued to maintain high vigilance, reinforce arrangements at vulnerable locations, and streamline real-time intelligence sharing.
Security forces emphasized remaining alert and prepared while minimizing disruption and inconvenience to the general public during the celebrations.
