Jammu & Kashmir LG Manoj Sinha Hands Over Government Appointment Letters to Families of Police Martyrs

SRINAGAR, AUGUST 01, 2026 — Reaffirming the government’s unwavering commitment to supporting the families of security personnel who made the ultimate sacrifice in the line of duty, Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha handed over appointment letters on compassionate grounds to the Next of Kin (NoK) of two fallen J&K Police bravehearts at Lok Bhavan today.

During the ceremony, LG Sinha presented an official appointment letter to Inshah Nazir, wife of the late Inspector Masroor Ali Wani, while honoring his supreme sacrifice and assuring her family of the administration’s continuous support and assistance.

In a separate presentation on the same day in the presence of family members, the Lieutenant Governor also handed over an appointment letter to Absar Ashiq Qureshi, son of Martyr Head Constable Ashiq Hussain Qureshi, who lost his life during the July 22, 2026 terror attack in Anantnag. Paying rich tributes to Head Constable Qureshi’s valor—following his earlier personal visit last week to the martyr’s residence in Lalpora, Beerwah, Budgam—LG Sinha assured both grieving families that the Union Territory administration stands firmly behind them, ensuring robust administrative welfare, financial support, and long-term care to uphold the memory of the brave personnel who laid down their lives for nation’s security.
