JKPSC Submits 67th Annual Report for 2025-26 to J&K Lieutenant Governor
SRINAGAR, Aug 1 — The Jammu and Kashmir Public Service Commission submitted its 67th Annual Report for the year 2025-26 to Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha at Lok Bhavan in Srinagar today, in compliance with Article 323(2) of the Constitution of India. The delegation was led by Chairman Arun Kumar Choudhary, along with Commission members Rajiv Singh and Asaf Mehmood Sagar, and Secretary Bashir Ahmad Dar.
The comprehensive report details significant administrative reforms, faster selection timelines, and major recruitment drives across key administrative and judicial cadres in the Union Territory.
Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha commended the commission for upholding fairness, speed, meritocracy, and integrity throughout its recruitment processes. During the meeting, Arun Kumar Choudhary briefed the Lieutenant Governor on various structural and technological interventions implemented to increase operational efficiency and transparency.
The annual report outlines the major achievements of the commission, constitutional provisions, selections made, Departmental Promotion Committee meetings conducted, promotions cleared, and departmental recruitment rules approved over the year.
Out of 1,263 posts referred to the commission, a total of 94,546 applications were received, resulting in 1,152 final selections. These included positions in the Jammu Kashmir Administrative Service, Jammu Kashmir Police Service, Jammu Kashmir Account Service, Assistant Directors in the Planning Development and Monitoring Department, 39 Junior Judges in the Subordinate Judiciary, and faculty posts across various medical and degree colleges.
To ensure transparency and eliminate delays, the commission conducted 52 preliminary or written tests and two main examinations, adopting a 100 percent written-examination-based recruitment model and transitioning to an on-screen evaluation system.
The commission also held 29 Departmental Promotion Committee meetings that cleared 508 officers for promotion, conducted three departmental examinations for 813 candidates, gave assent to recruitment rules for two departments, and introduced an automated SMS notification system for candidates regarding exams and interviews.
