Reasi Police Detain Repeat Drug Offender Under PIT-NDPS Act

REASI, Aug 1 — Continuing its crackdown on illicit drug trafficking in the region, the Reasi Police has detained a habitual offender under the Prevention of Illicit Traffic in Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act.

The accused, identified as Prakash Singh, was lodged in District Jail Poonch following a formal detention order issued by the Divisional Commissioner of Jammu.Official records indicate that Singh has been repeatedly implicated in narcotics cases, including multiple offenses registered at the Reasi police station this year.

Despite previous preventive measures, the accused continued to engage in the distribution and trafficking of illegal substances across the district.In response to his ongoing involvement in drug crimes, law enforcement executed the detention order to prevent further illicit activities.

Reasi Police reaffirmed their commitment to maintaining a zero-tolerance policy against drug peddlers and stated that strict legal actions will continue to ensure public safety and eradicate narcotics from the area.
