Interfaith Dialogue in Baramulla: Manoj Sinha Champions Social Harmony and Drug-Free Campaign for Jammu Kashmir Growth

SRINAGAR, JULY 19 — Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha addressed the Interfaith Dialogue for Harmony in Baramulla today, an event organized by the Save Youth Save Future Foundation. During the address, Sinha commended the foundation’s volunteers for their selfless contribution to the drug-free Jammu Kashmir initiative, noting that the campaign has successfully rebuilt trust within families, restored youth confidence, and proven that a society can overcome massive challenges when it unites. He emphasized that social and religious harmony serves as the crucial cornerstone for building a strong society, a prosperous Jammu Kashmir, and a developed India.

Reflecting on the region’s cultural fabric, Sinha highlighted that Jammu Kashmir has long embodied brotherhood, shaped by the centuries-old teachings of saints, Sufis, and Rishis who preached love, compassion, and unity. He cited the enduring legacies of Lal Ded and Sheikh-ul-Alam, explaining that their teachings bypassed religious divisions to speak directly to the human heart and promote service to all humanity. Sinha asserted that this rich rishi-sufi tradition does not proclaim the superiority of any single faith, but rather represents a shared heritage for all Hindus, Muslims, Sikhs, Buddhists, and Christians born on the sacred land, making its preservation a collective moral duty.

The Lieutenant Governor further declared that peaceful coexistence drives societal energy toward economic prosperity and guarantees a brighter future for upcoming generations. He urged the public to strengthen mutual goodwill to eliminate poverty and eradicate challenges like drug addiction, stating that Baramulla sends a message to the world that diverse communities can live together in peace, joy, and trust. Proclaiming that the era of drugs and terrorism has ended, Sinha called upon the youth to believe in their capabilities as they steer the Union Territory toward a new era of education, entrepreneurship, innovation, and national unity. Following the dialogue, Sinha also met with various public delegations to assure them of appropriate actions regarding their local grievances.
