Jammu & Kashmir: SSP Reasi Holds Thana Diwas, Reviews Security for Shri Amarnath and Shri Budha Amarnath Yatras

REASI, India — July 10, 2026 — As part of the ongoing public outreach initiative by the Government of Jammu & Kashmir, Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Reasi chaired a comprehensive “Thana Diwas” programme at the Community Facilitation Centre in Pouni. Accompanied by senior officials—including the Addl. SP Reasi, Dy.SP PC Pouni, SHO Police Station Pouni, and I/C Police Post Bhambla—the high-level interaction brought together respectable citizens from various sections of society to discuss vital public grievances and regional development issues. SSP Reasi assured the community that all genuine public concerns would be addressed on a priority basis in close coordination with relevant departments, while simultaneously appealing to citizens to maintain tight security coordination with law enforcement by reporting suspicious activities to safeguard regional peace.

Following the public forum, the SSP inspected Police Station Pouni to review and reinforce security arrangements for both the ongoing Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra (SANJY) and the upcoming Budha Amarnath Ji Yatra (BANJY). The police chief issued strict directions to the deployed personnel to ensure foolproof security, tight vigil, and efficient tactical deployment for the safe and seamless conduct of both annual pilgrimages.

Simultaneously, parallel Thana Diwas programmes were conducted across the district at Zero Morh (Reasi), Lower Dubri (Mahore), and Government Middle School Kanthan (Arnas) under the strict supervision of respective Sub-Divisional Police Officers and SHOs. Beyond addressing local grievances, these decentralized sessions focused heavily on community policing, raising widespread awareness regarding the ill effects of drug abuse, and mobilizing active public cooperation for the Nasha Mukht Bharat Abhiyan (Clean India Drug-Free Campaign) to preserve long-term law and order.
