Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra 2026: Over 1.7 Lakh Pilgrims Visit Holy Cave in Spectacular First Week

SRINAGAR, July 10, 2026 — Marking a significant milestone for the ongoing Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra 2026, the number of pilgrims crossing into the Kashmir Valley has comfortably surpassed the one-and-a-half lakh mark within the very first week. Highlighting a powerful spirit of devotion, seamless management, and robust security coordination, a total of 1,71,501 yatris from different parts of the country have successfully visited the holy cave shrine during the last seven days since the pilgrimage commenced.

In a statement shared on X (formerly Twitter), the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) Srinagar commended the collaborative efforts driving this year’s success, extending congratulations to all security forces, including the CRPF, Jammu & Kashmir Police (JKP), and various Central Armed Police Forces (CAPF). The annual pilgrimage was officially set in motion when Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha flagged off the first batch of yatris on July 2 from the Jammu base camp.

As the influx of devotees continues to grow, the Jammu and Kashmir administration has issued an appeal to all prospective pilgrims to ensure a smooth journey. Authorities have urged yatris to undertake the pilgrimage only after securing a confirmed registration and sticking strictly to their scheduled date. To maintain safety and order across the transit routes, the administration reiterated that no unregistered pilgrim will be allowed to proceed toward the base camps.
