Pulwama Security Drill: Forces Gear Up for Amarnath Yatra 2026
PULWAMA, June 18: In a major push to fortify security ahead of the upcoming Amarnath Ji Yatra 2026 (SANJY-2026), the Pulwama Police, in collaboration with the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) and various security agencies, conducted a series of comprehensive mock drills across multiple strategic locations in the district.
The large-scale exercises were executed along the crucial National Highway 44 (NH-44) stretch spanning from Galander to the Kandizal Crossing, as well as at the Kakapora Railway Station and the Railway Halt Station in Ratnipora. The simulated drills drew active participation from the local police, CRPF, specialized tactical units, emergency response services, and medical teams. Designed to evaluate operational readiness, the exercises focused heavily on refining inter-agency coordination, streamlining communication systems, testing rapid response mechanisms, ensuring area domination, and fine-tuning contingency plans under various emergency scenarios. Following the successful completion of the drills, authorities issued fresh directives to further tighten security parameters and ensure seamless cooperation among all stakeholders, reaffirming the Jammu and Kashmir Police’s commitment to delivering a safe, secure, and smooth pilgrimage for all devotees.
