Jammu administration seals illegal gun shop and seizes documents

JAMMU, June 04, 2026:- A district administration team led by Tehsildar Bahu Raju Sambyal and Tehsildar HQ Mona Chalotra inspected Aman Arms Company at the Railhead Shopping Complex following orders from District Magistrate Rakesh Minhas.

The inspection revealed that the shop was operating without a valid licence after its renewal application was rejected in 2024, representing a direct violation of the Arms Act of 1959 and the Arms Rules of 2016. During the operation, the team seized multiple gun licences and personal documents belonging to various licence holders, and formal legal action has been initiated against the management.

The district administration stated that strict monitoring of arms dealers will continue across the region to ensure total compliance with safety laws. Officials also issued an important public advisory clarifying that no agent or unlicensed commercial establishment can legally handle arms licence work.

The administration emphasized that all renewals, applications, and related services must be processed exclusively through the official National Database of Arms Licences portal at ndal-alis.gov.in, and urged citizens to immediately report any unauthorized demands for money or documents to the District Magistrate office in Jammu.
