Indian Coast Guard Conducts Joint Maritime Search and Rescue Exercise at Diglipur in Andaman and Nicobar Islands

DIGLIPUR, May 30 — Coast Guard District Headquarters-9, Diglipur, conducted a comprehensive Maritime Search and Rescue exercise and training workshop aimed at boosting operational synergy in the region. The specialized event focused on enhancing field coordination and tactical readiness among multiple defense and civil agencies operating out of Diglipur.

Key participants included units from the Indian Navy and Indian Air Force, alongside local stakeholders such as the Police Marine Force of Andaman and Nicobar, the Department of Forest, Civil Administration, the Department of Fisheries, and the Port Management Board.The joint initiative served as a vital training platform for regional maritime safety agencies to align their emergency protocols and quick-response mechanisms.

By simulating search and rescue scenarios, the workshop strengthened communication channels and joint deployment strategies among military personnel and civil administrators.

The successful execution of the exercise reaffirmed the collective commitment of all participating defense forces and local departments to maintain a high state of readiness, ensuring robust maritime safety and effective emergency response management across the territorial waters.
