Holy Buddha Relics Exposition Concludes In Ladakh

LEH: May 14, 2026: The 14-day Sacred Exposition of the Holy Buddha Relics concluded today at the Dharma Centre in Leh with a massive turnout of devotees. Throughout the event, more than 1.18 lakh people from India and across the world gathered to pay their respects to the relics of Lord Buddha.

The final day was marked by the performance of Monlam Chenmo, the Great Prayer Festival, where monks offered prayers for global peace.Ladakh Lieutenant Governor Vinai Kumar Saxena expressed deep gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi for enabling this significant event, describing it as a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for the people of the region. He noted that the exposition is expected to bolster the profile of Ladakh as a premier destination for eco-spiritual tourism.

Although the Holy Relics are scheduled to return to their place of preservation tomorrow, officials emphasized that the teachings and essence of Buddhism will remain a guiding light for the region. The event, centered on the theme of world peace, successfully highlighted the deep spiritual heritage and cultural significance of Ladakh on a global stage.
