Samba Police Books Hardcore Gangster Under Public Safety Act

SAMBA: May 14, 2026: Samba Police has successfully executed a major crackdown on organized crime by booking a notorious gangster under the Jammu and Kashmir Public Safety Act.

The individual, a resident of Jerda in the Ramgarh area, has been lodged in District Jail Bhaderwah following his detention. This significant action was taken under the supervision of SSP Samba Anuj Kumar to curb the rising influence of criminal elements in the region.

The detained individual is identified as a key member of the infamous Royal Gang and has been involved in a series of serious criminal activities across the Samba, Jammu, and Kathua districts.

His persistent involvement in violent crimes, the unlawful possession of weapons, and various narcotics-related offenses had posed a grave threat to public peace and security.

Authorities noted that despite previous legal interventions, his continued participation in illegal activities created a sense of fear and insecurity among the general public.

Police records reveal a long-standing criminal history consisting of fourteen separate FIRs registered between 2016 and 2025. These charges range from attempted murder and assault to violations of the Arms Act and the NDPS Act.

Given the habitual nature of these offenses and the persistent threat to public order, a detailed dossier was submitted by the police to the District Magistrate.

Following the issuance of a formal detention order, the suspect was taken into custody and moved to the Bhaderwah jail facility.
