Javid Dar Sets One-Week Deadline for Veterinary Infrastructure Tenders to Boost Kashmir’s Livestock Sector
SRINAGAR, May 14, 2026 — Minister for Agriculture Production, Rural Development, and Panchayati Raj, Javid Ahmad Dar, chaired a high-level review meeting at the Civil Secretariat today to evaluate the status of veterinary infrastructure and the implementation of various developmental schemes across Kashmir.
The Minister issued a strict one-week deadline for the completion of the tendering process for pending veterinary healthcare works, emphasizing transparency and the urgent need to modernize the livestock sector. During the session, he reviewed the physical and financial progress of Centrally Sponsored Schemes (CSS) and UT-sector initiatives, directing officials to ensure the judicious and timely utilization of funds to maximize benefits for the farming community.
To ensure accountability, Minister Dar mandated intensified monitoring and random field inspections of projects under NABARD and other flagship programs. Additionally, the department confirmed that the recruitment process for vacant Veterinarian and Para-Veterinarian positions is moving forward according to established guidelines, further strengthening the region’s animal husbandry manpower and service delivery.
